It's come to my attention that many of you came across this forum by different means and not just through the main site. In fact many of you don't even realise that there IS a main site! You may, therefore, be wondering how it all came about and indeed, why was it set up in the first place?! Let me enlighten you all. I (Rockster) set up the Celebrity Addy's website over 2 years ago because I had become aware of the growing number of celebrity email addresses appearing on the net. I wondered just how many of them were real and how many were fake. I began to email those I could find and attempt to verify their authenticity. As I suspected, many were indeed fake, but some were real and they weren't too happy to find that their addresses were available on the net for all to see! I set up the website and made it my goal to post only those celebrity addresses that had agreed to be listed. Every celebrity I contact has to give their permission before I post their private details on the site. Some declined, some were fakes, but many agreed to be listed and were able to prove their authenticity... Celebrity Addy's was born! (If you visit the main site and click on the Guestbook, you can read a handful of comments left by some celebrities.) Note: Of course, if it is a "fanmail" address already advertised elsewhere (ie, xxx@studiofanmail.com) then it may appear on the site without prior permission. Such information is not deemed "private" and is therefore posted on the site. The forum came a little later and was originally hosted by Voyforums. That particular forum was difficult to maintain, had very few features (lacking features such as: avatars, profiles, post counters etc) and was quickly dominated by what appeared to be kids and fans of only 2 or 3 particular celebrities (who will remain nameless!). I chose a new forum provider (Proboards) and set up the current board to replace the old one. This is where we are now! If you did come by this forum without checking out the main site, may I now supply you with the URL and recommend you check it out. It may save me from directing you there when you ask me for an addy that's already checked, authorised and posted!
